Advice for Road Runners: The Nike Women's Pegasus 40 Road Running Shoes are the outcome of 40 years of the Pegasus. These neutral running shoes provide responsive cushioning for daily training runs.
Underfoot Feel
The cushioning stems from two key technologies: Nike React foam and Nike Zoom Air units.
The majority of the midsole is made from Nike React foam. This lightweight material is good at maintaining its shape; therefore, providing you with a consistent feeling from the cushioning. There are also two Zoom Air units: one in the heel and one in the forefoot. Zoom Air units provide spring and bounce to energise your run.
One of the most famous design features on a Pegasus may be the Waffle-inspired outsole pattern. This provides traction when you are running on the roads.
Upper Fit
The upper is designed to be very accommodating. The midfoot strap should mold to your feet - providing support where it is required the most. A key design feature for the Pegasus 40 was the creation of an upper that was most forgiving where your feet are most sensitive - such as the toes, arch and heel.
Ideal Run Type
The Nike Women's Pegasus 40 Road Running are best for daily training runs at steady paces. Thanks to the Zoom Air units, the Pegasus 40 should feel really good if you want to increase the pace during sections of your daily training runs.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
